My name is Cynthia Rosado. I grew up in Brooklyn, in a three-family apartment building with my parents, sisters, brother, grandparents, aunts, and uncle.

I am a retired teacher who taught for 35 years at P.S.169 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, specializing in working with students learning English as a second language. I also spent time as a literacy coach. My love of family, children, and literature has led me on my new path in writing and illustrating children’s books. Many of my stories are based on little ordinary problems that feel insurmountable to children. My characters productively struggle, concoct zany plans, often fail, but never give up.

I also enjoy retelling fairy tales that portray the characters in a different light, as we all have different layers to be discovered.

I enjoy wool felting to create models of characters from my stories. I am my happiest outside, and during my many walks and wandering about, I stumble upon new ideas.
